Infrastructure for Stationary Energy Systems
The Department of “Infrastructure for Stationary Energy Systems” works on components for a sustainable and reliable energy supply chain based on hydrogen. We develop, analyze and model stationary hydrogen storage, compression and purification as well as associated heat storage systems. Economical metal hydrides, being available in large quantities, are the main materials employed here. Our aim is to provide energy-efficient, reliable and long-lasting solutions for sustainable and climate-friendly energy concepts. This begins with the materials, then extends to components and processes and also takes into account life cycle and recycling aspects.
