Microporous Polymers
Clean drinking water for all people—this is one of the greatest future challenges. Innovative membrane methods can help with both water supply and wastewater disposal, thereby reducing the burden on the environment. The “Microporous Polymers” department develops high-performance membranes that filter micropollutants and heavy metals from the water. It also designs novel microporous polymers, for example, to desalinate seawater or to remove climate-damaging gases from the air. This work is supported by comprehensive digital modeling.
