X-Ray Diffraction with Synchrotron Radiation

To meet the challenges of climate change and a sustainable economy, we need new resource-preserving materials and manufacturing methods. The “X-Ray Diffraction with Synchrotron Radiation” department operates several experimental stations at the PETRA III X-ray source. The experiments with high-energy X-rays provide unique information on the microstructure of materials as well as on their behaviour in manufacturing and in aging. We carry out our own experiments and support external users from both the scientific and industrial sectors with experiments and data analysis. The results help to further develop digital models of materials and manufacturing processes.
