Digital Design and Manufacturing
In the “Digital Design and Manufacturing” department, we use computer-aided design and digital manufacturing techniques to develop multifunctional, shape-changing materials. Our aim is to create complex material system geometries in structured shaping processes and to thereby link several functions with one another. In addition to digital design, we use predictive models and additive manufacturing processes and carry out 3D characterization of multifunctional systems. Our (multi-)functional systems contribute to interactive products as well as to products for health and medicine.
