Meteorologist Prof. Dr. Daniela Jacob is one of the lead authors of the IPCC Special Report on the Effects of Global Warming by 1.5 Degrees and Director of the Climate Service Center Germany (GERICS), an institution of the Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht. She teaches at Leuphana University Lüneburg.

Physicist Dr. Eduardo Zorita has been at the Helmholtz Centre Geesthacht (HZG) since 1996. Today, he is now a senior scientist at the Institute for Coastal Research. In addition, he does research within the framework of the Cluster of Excellence "Integrated Climate System Analysis and Prediction" (CliSAP) of the University of Hamburg.
