Scientific computing requires high-performance computers as well as fast data storage and networks. The HPC cluster "Strand" is the first computing cluster for scientific computing used across institutes at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon and therefore represents an important milestone in interdisciplinary collaboration.
