Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon Outstation at FRM II
As Part of the German Engineering Materials Science Centre (GEMS), Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon operates outstanding neutron scattering instruments at its outstation at the neutron source FRM II in Garching near Munich within the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Zentrum (MLZ). At the small-angle scattering and reflectometry instrument REFSANS, measurements of solid samples as well as of the air-liquid interface are possible using a broad range of the scattering vector. Hereon also contributes to the operation of the small-angle scattering instrument SANS-1 together with the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Furthermore, Hereon and TUM are running the residual stress and texture instrument STRESS-SPEC. more
Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon Outstation at DESY
The Hereon outstation at DESY currently participates in the operation of four GEMS beamlines at the PETRA III synchrotron storage ring. The High Energy Material Science Beamline (HEMS/P07) and the Imaging Beamline (IBL/P05) are optimized for material science applications forming a unique research cluster. Due to the complementarity in their energy range and beam properties, the beamlines provide facilities for a large range of diffraction and imaging experiments to a widespread user community.Hereon also operates the nanofocus endstation of the DESY MINAXS beamline P03 for nanodiffraction experiments and runs the Beamline for White Beam Engineering Materials Science WINE - P61A to perform energy-dispersive X-ray diffraction investigations for materials science. more
