Access to the GEMS instruments is provided via the user portals of DESY and MLZ/FRM II.
GEMS offers the possibility of combined neutron/photon beamtime proposals: If you are planning to perform complementary experiments using both probes (using e.g. the different beam size, penetration depth and resolution in residual stress analysis or the different scattering contrast in small-angle scattering) please use the same proposal title and the headline “Combined neutron/photon proposals” in the
- brief description of the DOOR proposal form (http://door.desy.de)
- abstract of the FRM II proposal form (http://user.frm2.tum.de)
If available, please add the corresponding proposal number of the other facility.
For these proposals GEMS scientists will coordinate the two beamtimes.
