Since 2018, the International Youth Community Services (ijgd) and the Schools Laboratory “Quantensprung” have been offering a Voluntary Social Year (FJN) at the Hereon location in Geesthacht. The place of work is the Schools Laboratory “Quantensprung”. In addition to support work in the daily running of the Schools Laboratory, you will work independently on various projects, where your own interests will be taken into account.

If you are not sure what to do after school and are interested in science, then a Voluntary Social Year (FJN) at the Hereon might be just the thing for you to make good use of your gap year and also to gain insight into working at a research institute.
Applications are handled by the institution “ijgd”. If you are interested, you can find more information about ijgd and the application process at the following address:

ijgd’s contact person is Kai Ramin, who will be able to provide you with further information and a detailed report on the Voluntary Social Year (FJN) at Hereon.
