One of the main tasks of the Communication ans Media department at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon is to provide the public with scientific results, news on the latest developments, and background information — all presented in a transparent and understandable manner.

The spectrum of the Communication and Media department covers
- the issue of press releases and hosting press conferences
- the intermediation of experts in scientific matters
- the provision of photo and film data for the media
- the care of the internet pages
- organizing events
- the issue of broshures concerning seperate themes of research and project fields
- taking care of visitors
