Dr. Sabine Keuter
The processes of the aquatic nutrient cycles are mainly run by archaea, bacteria, and single-celled eucaryotes. In my research I try to find out which drivers are shaping the species composition of the microbial communities, and what factors influence process rates.
My worked is particularly focused on N cycle bacteria and archaea, their diversity and roles in natural as well as engineered ecosystems like wastewater treatment and aquaculture.
