• Analysis of numerical model and observation data with a focus on coastal oceanic processes
• Study of the impact of offshore windfarms with a focus on the atmospheric and oceanic boundary layer
• Merging of numerical model and observation data for the optimisation of state estimates using statistical and variational data assimilation methods
• Characterisation and quantification of errors in observation and numerical model data
• Optimisation of observation system design with particular focus on the integration of innovative spaceborne and insitu technology
• Coordination of data assimilation activities within the department “Hydrodynamics and Data Assimilation”
