My work on chemical emissions from offshore wind farms takes place within the EU Interreg project Anemoi. Despite their rapid adoption and projected increases in scale, information is lacking concerning the environmental impacts of offshore wind farms. This project aims to characterize the chemical emissions thereof and their impacts on the marine environment in order to propose sustainable solutions.

To this end, the primary goal of my research is to conduct analysis of samples in multiple matrices from the North Sea in order to detect and trace inorganic and particulate emissions.

My specific interests in environmental chemistry include:

  • Emerging contaminants
  • Uptake of offshore emissions in biota
  • LDIR / microplastics
  • ICP-MS/MS
