SFB 986

The DFG funded Collaborative Research Centre project SFB 986 "Tailor-Made Multi-Scale Materials Systems– M³“ is a collaboration between Hamburg University of Technology, University of Hamburg, and Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon. The goal of the project is to develop new hierarchical materials which have exceptionally good properties. The methods provided by GEMS in central project Z2 of SFB986 are divided into scattering and imaging -based methods. The scattering methods include high-energy x-ray diffraction, neutron diffraction, small-angle x-ray scattering (SAXS), small-angle neutron scattering (SANS), and neutron reflectivity. The imaging methods provided include absorption and phase contrast micro tomography and absorption contrast nano tomography.
